Clare is a woodwind tutor, with a limb-different student who plays with an adapted instrument. She is also a trustee of one of the London music hubs and is the chair of trustees at Reach Charity Limited, the charity that supports children with upper limb differences across the UK and Ireland. She is passionate about the value of music to enhance people's lives and the vital importance of inclusion in music. With the rest of her time, she is a selection panel chair for the Judicial Appointments Commission and sits on the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Appointments Board.
In her previous career, Clare worked as a civil servant,specialising in the Northern Ireland peace process.
