After 40 years of being in the world of the trombone, as learner, teacher, performer, educator, designer and innovator, I'm as passionate as ever to spread the word and broaden the opportunity for as many people as possible to experience the joy of music making on the trombone. Inclusion is central to our mission at Warwick Music Group and as Director of Innovation and Creativity my role allows me to focus closely on expanding access to brass playing.
This project is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate more broadly on the challenges that can block access to the trombone. The trombone is at once the most natural of brass instruments to play and the most challenging to get to grips with...literally! My ambition is that the team will learn from potential users and existing best practice to develop and innovate a trombone stand that can be economically and sustainably produced allowing a new cohort of children and adults to experience the fun of playing the trombone and the joy of making music!
