Hi everyone, I’m Rachel. I teach woodwind instruments privately, mainly saxophone and flute, and I am also studying for an MA in Music Education at the University of York. My research has led to me developing an interest in the area of accessible technology (including instruments both modified and electronic, as well as software), which is an area that also works with my other professional area of expertise as a software developer. I am very interested in research that has a practical application and can really help others to benefit from music education, so I’m looking forward to working with the Supply Chains for Schools challenge team to try and help students make the most of the available technology out there. Other than trying to improve musically, I also enjoy languages and study German and Swedish. In my spare time I’m usually home playing video games and tabletop games such as Dungeons & Dragons with my husband. I love animals, and have a dog, 5 cats, 2 snakes and a Bearded Dragon.
